No other spirits gather with you; tonight, you're own. But that's fine, isn't it? The others were just holding you back. Of course you'd be the last one standing - you were the strongest out of them. And now, you're really going to show them something fun.

When you're ready, the boxes and lighter in the center of the room await. Who will be the next victim?]

It hasn't been the best week for you all. Only three of you enter the room tonight, the other two having been killed off. Still, there's no reason to give up hope yet. They were weak. the graveyard

You wake up in your bed. At first, it might not seem as though anything has changed...until you try to leave the room. You'll quickly discover that while you can phase through the interior walls of the building, you can't open doors, pick up objects, or alter the environment in any way. Worse, the only people who can see and hear you are your fellow ghosts; to everyone else, you may as well be so much empty air.

That said, there are still a few other things you can do besides just observing those who are still alive. You now have the ability to conjure any food, drink, or reasonably small object out of midair, although anything you conjure will go unnoticed by the living inhabitants. More interestingly, there is now an intricate iron door embedded in the wall of the main room that you're sure hadn't been there yesterday. If you open it, you'll find that at long last you've exited the building...and the world outside looks quite familiar.

In fact, it's your world. Though...it might not be exactly how you remember it when you left.

You won't be able to get far in the area before you feel some kind of barrier preventing you from taking another step, but it's enough for you to know that something has Gone Terribly Wrong. Perhaps it's the bombed-out shell of your building, or the monsters screeching nearby, or the corpses of your army scattered on the ground; whatever the situation is, it's clear that you would have been in grave danger had you still been back home. Luckily, your ghostly status is still in effect even here; while there may be danger still lurking about, none of it will be able to affect you.

The building behind you has taken on a translucent, almost insubstantial appearance; only the iron doors remain as solid as ever. You can simply open them again to return to the cat's domain.

(OOC: Here's how this will work! Whenever someone new arrives to the graveyard, the world outside will change to their canon's world. We'll leave the exact location and situation up to you to describe; the only thing that matters is that it should be clear your character would have been in enormous danger had they been around. Everyone in the graveyard will be able to explore the area, which will at maximum be around the size of a large ballroom; you'll be able to see things outside the area, but you won't be able to take another step forward. You can interact with the setting, but you won't be able to affect anything living, and anything that might pose a danger such as bullets will pass right through you.)

On the second day, the cat announced the rules of the game, and gave the players the case of Vincent Noscent, a man who committed suicide in prison. The culprit turned out to singer Clara Reigns. After being told the 'real' Clara Reigns was among them, the players reviewed Sayaka Maizono's memories and voted her to blame. Sayaka Maizono was then devoured by a strange dark shadow.

The cat then went on to explain the truth of the game - that there are malevolent entities possessing a number of the people here. The possessed people don't know they are possessed, but are beyond saving. The only way for the cat to identify them is to have the players solve cases about their guilt and put the blame on them. The cat cannot let anyone go until the threat of the entities is over.

The cat told the story of General Ryu of the fire nation, who was killed in an ambush. It was determined that the person to blame was one of four living people. The cat mentioned that only one of these people was one of the possessed.

Finally, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu confessed to being the Prince from the story. He was executed, and found to have been possessed.

Eventually, Youmu confessed to being Ivy, the friend who gave Charlotte her Pokemon which led to her death. Youmu was executed. However, it was revealed Youmu was actually not one of the possessed. The cat also mentioned that the way he finds the possessed is to find the rot in their heart, which is there because of the blame they carry there. The cat sense the shape of that rot.

Viola Charm, the killer's oblivious step-daughter, was determined to be to blame, and Viola's identity was determined to be Klavier Gavin.

The group asked the cat many questions about how blame works, determined to avoid another mistake like Youmu's. They decided to try to save Klavier by helping him work through his guilt. Whatever they did, when 'no one' was executed, the demon in Klavier seems to have vanished.

shit gets real

On the fourteenth day, the bodies of Shouhei Akagi and Satoshi Fukube were found, in a grisly hospital scene that looked like something out of a horror movie. It turned out, the case was about a group who all died due to the actions of some malevolent ghosts, and also due to the actions of people who had caused humans to be in that situation.

It was determined that the guilty party was the teenage Sadako, who had led the group to the haunted location in order to impress someone she loved. Sadoka was found to be Saenoki Naho. After some discussion, the group decided not to vote for Saenoki Naho. However, any demon inside her does not appear to have vanished.

Athena and Maya attempt to cross-examine her, but instead she reveals herself to be a demon with powers and attacks. Fortunately, Kouha, Mai, Ty Lee, and Yuyuko are able to fend her off. Iceland reveals Austria is also possessed, and she is killed as well.

Deaths: Satoshi Fukube, Shouhei Akagi, Austria, Saenoki Naho

On the seventeenth day, Ace's and Ellie's bodies were found in what appeared to be the aftermath of a fight between a fugitive and a cop. Kouha's body was found in a separate scene, horribly mutilated in a beautiful bedroom. The case centered around the murder of a reclusive noblelady, as well as the death of the boy suspected to be her killer.

It was discovered that the boy was covering for the true killer: Iphigenia Kindly, the victim's daughter who had snapped due to her mother constantly performing terrifying and painful rituals on her. Iphigenia's identity was determined to be Athena Cykes, who believed she had blocked out the memories of stabbing and murdering her own mother. However, after closely examining the memories in her cabinet and questioning her, the group managed to prove that Athena had been mistaken and that she had stabbed someone else that night.

Because of this, 'no one' was executed again, and the spirit within Athena seems to have vanished. The cat was in a better mood that evening and answered a few questions along with granting requests for additions to the building.

Deaths: Ace, Ellie, Ren Kouha

On the twentieth day, Serena's body was found in the bedchamber of a castle, brutally hacked apart by a sword. The case centered around the families of two medieval houses, and a conspiracy to murder the current lord and lady of one of the houses.

The group determined that the killer in the case was Iseult Medraut, who had been horrifically abused by her parents and went on a murderous rampage when her original plot to frame them for execution failed. The cat mentioned that though Iseult was directly responsible for their deaths, it wasn't where the blame in her heart was coming from. Instead, it was discovered that she loathed herself for not acting sooner.

Upon hearing this, Kaoru Nagumo came forward as the person representing Iseult. Though his memory of murdering his entire clan for abusing him caused a stir in some of the players, all of them banded together to try to save him. Their efforts turned out to not be in vain, as when 'no one' was executed, the spirit within him seemed to vanish.

[At some point during the night, you awaken.

Whatever unfortunate soul had been residing in this body is no longer conscious. You're in control now - a malicious spirit who preys on people's guilt, using it as a doorway into their minds. It doesn't matter whether their guilt is justified or not; as long as they carry it, they leave themselves open to your possession.

Fortunately for them, and unfortunately for you, your power is still quite weak. You can only control them for a certain amount of time at night; in the morning, they will wake up with no memories of your presence whatsoever. Luckily, a few hours is all you need to begin setting up what will hopefully be a permanent occupation of this body.

After all, you and seven others are the only people who know the secret behind this place: everyone here, back in their own world, is either dead or about to die.

However, there's still a chance that a few of you may be able to survive. While the cat isn't going to bother saving nearly thirty people from death, if there were a great deal less...well, it might be more open to that suggestion. But in order for that to happen, you and your fellow spirits must prove that you deserve to live more than the rest of the people here. If you manage to outnumber the innocents, you'll be able to completely rewrite the person you're currently possessing and take their place in their world.

Of course, with the cat in charge of which cases everyone will be reviewing, this may prove harder than you think....

As you leave your bedroom and enter the hallway, you'll find a black door that wasn't there before during the day. The door opens into a darkened room, where you can meet the other spirits and discuss who to kill.]
